Day 89 - Coke Can Flower Magnet

Cut from a coke can!

Day 88 - CD and Jeans Information Organizer

This organizer is made from an old magnetic chalkboard from Ella's room. I added the CD chalkboards, a pocket from an old pair of jeans, and the belt hanger.

Day 87 -Tie and CD Information Organizer

I made this little information organizer from a men's tie, old cd painted with chalk board paint and a couple of binder clips.

Day 86 - Linen Tablecloth Poncho

While cleaning out my piles of fabric, I came across this blue linen tablecloth. I thought it was so pretty and really wanted to create something that I could use a lot. I turned it into a lightweight poncho. It will be prefect for those air-conditioned Arizona resturants.

I simply cut a hole out for the head an sewed on a pretty lace trim around the opening to finish it off. The embroidery was already on it.

Days 84 and 85-Days off

Lots of family in town for Ella's first communion, so no crafting this weekend!

Day 82 - Ella's Recycled Headband

Another recycled headband today. This time I covered it with ribbon from my stash and put Ella's name on with beads left over from a Girl Scout project. I love it and so does Ella.

Day 81 - Recycled Easter Headband

We always have headbands lying around that Ella doesn't wear anymore. So I used one, covered it up with a pretty sequened trim, and made a cute nest with baby chicks for Easter. The nest is made from some scrap fibers in my stash and the little chicks were left over from an Easter craft last year.

Day 80-Bears Shirt Fix

This is a Chicago Bears shirt that got ruined in the wash by one of those metallic clothing stickers from the store. I found a small Bears patch in a bargain bin a my local fabric store. It was the perfect size to cover up the foil residue. Go Bears!

Day 79 - Paper and Pebble Pendants

Another use for my paper scraps! I just cut out the paper circles and used a little Modge Podge to keep them in place. I sealed them with a coat of resin and then added the bead on top to put them on a chain.

Day 78 - Single Yarn and Plastic Necklace

I really like the way that the Day 77 necklace turned out. Here's another version.

Day 77 - Trio Yarn and Plastic Necklace

I saw something just like this online, but the rings they used to wrap the yarn on were made of plastic needlepoint canvas. I just used some recycled plastic and wrapped the yarn around. I attached to a store-bought chain.

Bad blogger

So-I am good at making my crafts everyday, but bad at posting them. I always put it off for the end of the night and then forget.

I will try to catch up this weekend.

Day 76 - CD Coasters

More Cd's today. I covered these with cotton yarn to make drink coasters.

Day 75 - Mini CD Chalkboards

Like most of us, I have a ton of old CD's that I can't bear to through away. I spray painted a bunch of the with chalkboard paint to make small chalkboards. I had a thought last night that they might look good grouped together, so I will try that for another day.

Day 74 - Book Page Wreath

I saw a similar wreath in a magazine and thought it would be great for my house. I am a bibiliophile, and my house if filled with books. The pages came from an old volume of Shakespeare that I was going to take to our local used bookstore. This is just a start on the wreath. I want to add some embellishments, but haven't found the right thing yet.

Day 73 - Wedding Dress Rosette Headband

The rosettes on this headband came from the same wedding dress I used for Day 72. I pulled off a few of the rosettes and attached them to a headband for my daughter.

Day 72- 1st Communion Veil

This veil is made from the frills of a Salvation Army wedding dress. Our friend Piper is going to wear if for 1st Communion this weekend.

Day 71 - Doily Bowl Retry

So-my starched doily bowl was not successful. I had a feeling when I set it to dry that the doily was too big. After if dried it was just too big to hold its shape.

So, I cut off half the doily and started over. Hopefully when it is dry tomorrow I will have a success story.

Plus, I already have an idea for the part I cut off!

Day 70 - Day Off

I have decided not to feel quilty when I don't get a project done for the day. I don't want this project to be a burden; it is supposed to be fun and inspiring. So-another day off today. I'm still really proud of my accomplishments.

Day 69 - Crocheted Doily Starched Bowl

This project will take a few days, but here it is drying. This is an old doily my Nana made. I soaked it in starch and formed it over a metal bowl. It will take a few days to dry. I will post the finished result.

Day 68 - Recycled Bottle Donation Jar

This was originally a girl scout project. I made another one to give to a friend's daughter. It is a lemon juice bottle covered with old material scraps. The letters are from a board game.

Day 67 - Bridesmaid Dress Flower Brooch

I made this flower brooch from material left over from my bridesmaid dresses. The dresses were made for my wedding almost 19 years ago! My step-grandmother made one of the dresses and my step-mom recently gave me some scraps that were left over. I think I will also make a headband for Ella in the future.

Day 66

Day 65 - Belt Cuff Bracelet #3

Expect these to keep coming. I have a lot of belt left, and I just picked up a few more at Goodweill this week!

I added some beads to this length of belt. This one is for TJ.

Day 64 - SPREE Plastic Bead Necklace

Okay IHS friends, here's one for you.

We went to a fundraiser for the school this weekend and they had these pretty orange plastic beads scattered on the tables. So I grabbed a handful, drilled holes in them, added a few store-bought spacers, and slid them onto an old chain I had. Very stylish.

Thanks to SPREE for the inspiration!

Day 63 - Jewelry Box Mini Prayer Altar

I made this pretty little prayer altar from one side of a cardboard jewelry gift box. I got the idea while shopping in a Mexican home store in Tucson. I saw some of these little icons in round cardboard frames.

My kids made them as well, but gave them to Grandma Marilyn before I took the picture.

Day 62 - Belt Cuff Bracelet #2

This is another bracelet from a belt. I didn't add anything but a snap to this one. I have enough belt left to probably make 4 more cuffs.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Day 61 Belt Cuff Bracelet

I made this cuff from an old belt, my stash of string and some beads that I bought. I just haven't figured out how to attach a clasp or closure. I think I need some snaps.

Day 60 - Napkin Table Runner

I'm finally back on track!

I made this table runner by tacking together a set of antique napkins that I have from my Nana. I think they need a little more sewing to keep them flat, but overall I think they look pretty.

Day 54-59 VACATION

We were off on vacation in San Diego this week. Back to crafting tomorrow.

Day 50-53 SICK FAMILY

We all were sick for days with a horrible cold. I was pretty much in bed the whole time.

Day 49 - Mom's American Girl Doll Communion Dresses

Today I am cheating to showcase some amazing dresses my mom made from a wedding dress we bought at the Salvation Army. She made these amazing 1st communion dresses for American Girl dolls. My daughter and most of her friends have them, and my mom is always making clothes and sending them to me to sell.

These turned out just gorgeous.

And yes-for those of you following from Immaculate Heart, get your orders in now. She will make more!

Day 48 -Red Dress Redo

This is one of my stand by summer dresses. I somehow managed to get a stain right in the middle of the skirt. So I tried creating a design over the spot with a bleach pen. I like the way it turned out.

Days 46 and 47 - Paper Stash Dollhouse Wallpaper

For the last two days I have been wallpapering my daughter's dollhouse. Instead of buying the expensive dollhouse wallpaper, I used my stash of scrapbook paper. Ella picked out what she wanted and I just used Mod Podge to adhere it. I have no idea how to take a really good picture of the whole thing. So here are some in process shots.

Monday, February 14, 2011

Day 45 - Beer Tab Bracelet

Okay-I have seen these on craft sites and blogs so I thought I would take a whirl. I was not very handy with the stretchy cord. Not my best effort; but I gave it a try!

Day 44 - Lace and Denim Cuff

I made this cuff with the jeans I used for the bag on day 39 and the now infamous wedding nightie!

And yes-I took a day off yesterday. I was busy with out of town visitors and found myself trying to force a project at the end of the night, before I remembered that this is supposed to be fun! So I went to bed instead.

Friday, February 11, 2011

Day 42 - Tie Headband

Made this cute headband with an old silk tie and a little bit of elastic.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Day 41 - Pearl and Tulle Necklace

I am not at all happy with this necklace. I saw a similar one in a magazine, but I just can't get it right. I think it needs a lot more tulle. I'll have to see what I can do.

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Day 40 - Lace Necklace

I made this necklace with more lace from my crazy Stevie Nicks nightgown, some ribbon and a few embellishments.

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Day 39 - Blue Jeans Purse

I made this purse with a pair of my old jeans that had a broken zipper. (And they may not have fit me anymore!) The handle is a belt that I picked up from Goodwill. I think I would like to embellish this with something, just not sure what. I am also going to see if I can find a zipper to fit the opening.

Monday, February 7, 2011

Day 38 - Glass Pebble Collage

Again I am using leftovers from another project. If nothing else, I definitely will clean out my supplies this year!

I used the glue gun to attach the glass pebbles to the canvas. Before attaching them, I wiped them with ink from a stamp pad to add a little color. It might be hard to see, but some of the larger pebbles have my kids names in them.

Sunday, February 6, 2011

Day 37 - Seashell and Tulle Pin

This pin is a twist of left over tulle and a sea shell that we found in Florida on Thanksgiving weekend. I added a pearl sticker from my stash.

Day 36 - Chinese Coin and Tulle Barrette

I made this barrette with a Chinese coin that my husband brought home from a business trip and some left over tulle. My daughter is learning to speak Mandarin, so I thought she would like it.

Day 35 - Garage Sale Jacket Update Part 2

After looking at this jacket for a few days I decided all it really needed was a flower or something. I think it is just enough.

Thursday, February 3, 2011

Day 34 - Leftover Yarn and Old Charm Barrette

While still thinking about my jacket from day 33, I made this barrette with the yarn left from one of the skeins. I added a button from my never-ending jar and a charm with a picture of myself as a child that my other gave me from an old charm bracelet. My daughter is going to love this!

Day 33 - Garage Sale Jacket Update Part 1

I found this jacket at a garage sale. I am calling this part one, because I think I need to add more of the crocheted ruffle, but I am not quite sure how I want to do it. I will take a fresh look in the morning and finish it.

Day 32 - Goodwill Jacket Dress Up

I found this cute, casual jacket at Goodwill for $3! I just added a simple crocheted piece to liven it up and add some color.

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

Day 31 -Day Off!

I decided to celebrate my first month by taking a day off! I have had a crazy week and a project today would have felt like a chore rather then fun.

Day 30 - Needlepoint Thread Antique Pin

For this project I crocheted a flower from a pile of needlepoint thread that was headed for the trash. I attached an antique pin that my mother gave me from my step-grandmother's jewelry.

Day 29 - Sweater Redo

This is a black sweater that I was about to send to Goodwill. The lace that I cut out and sewed on came from a ridiculous nightie that I got as a wedding gift. It was all Stevie Nicks, flowy and strange. But I kept it all these years, and I plan on using pieces in other projects.
